The 3rd monk

0Rethoughts
I stood at the corner of a very narrow road. As far as I could see, I only saw desert. Uninhabited area. It was only one road, sundering desert in two parts. I didn't know where I was. I expressed gratitude to the almighty, because I wasn't thirsty. I was a little perplexed. I hadn't seen this desert before. I started looking all around. Suddenly I saw a man coming towards me. He seemed to be a monk. Finally he approached me.

"Hi." I said.

"I am logic." The monk introduced himself.

"Who?" I couldn't get it. I mean he said he was logic!?

"Yes, Your perception says I can not be logic. right?" Logic said.

"Of course."I replied.

"I hardly match with perception. In most of the cases, perception has nothing to do with me." The monk said.

"Are you here to tell me all that?" I asked him.

"I am here to tell you that you should wait here. Any time a car can pass by. you can ask for lift." Logic said.

"But I....." He disappeared before I could tell him anything.

I stayed there, but another person showed up. He was too coming towards me. He was a monk too.

"Hello!" I welcomed.

"I am perception." He said.

"What? where am I? Why weird monks are approaching me?" I got a bit furious as well as confused.

"You are in a desert." He answered.

"That I can see." I told him.

"I am here to tell you that start looking for a water source in this desert, otherwise you won't survive." The perception said.

"Ok, but...." Before I could say anything he disappeared.

Now, I was about to leave road and start searching for water source, but another monk turned up. This time, I had made my mind to ask him all the questions. I wanted to know where I was!

"Hey, monk. Where am I?" I directly asked as he approached me.

" Let me introduce...."

"No, first answer my question. I know you are also going to disappear." I said.

"It's almost impossible. I can't disappear. I am here to stay with you forever." The monk explained.

"Who are you ,then?"I asked curiously.

"I am conscience. But I am often termed as 'heart'. You know all those 'follow your heart' kind of quotes? But, I tell you heart is only a pumping machine. When you talk about someone's heart, all you talk about is me." The monk said.

"Why are you here?"I asked.

"To tell you that follow this road. This road leads to a city." The conscience stated with a smile.

"But two monks, who approached me before you, suggested me different solutions. Logic said stay here. Perception suggested me to find a water source. I am confused." I clarified my confusion.

"Son , this happens with everyone. What do you see all around?" He asked me.

"Desert." I reverted.

"This is not desert. This is one of the unfavorable phases of your life. You are in trouble. If you stay here for a long time, you will get thirsty. Right?" The saint analyzed my reaction.

"Yes."

"To get out of this situation, you have three options- Listen to logic, perception and conscience. Logic suggested to stay here, but it is an uncertain solution. Car may not come. See how narrow this road is! Perception suggested you to find a water source, but it is a temporary solution. You may find a water source, but what about food? You can't survive, only with water. I told you to follow this road. There is a city at the end of this road. Road is not too lengthy. You would reach the city within an hour. I am with you during this journey."The monk explained his point.

"But, how can I trust you?" I queried.

"Son, this too happens to every common person. When it comes to follow your conscience, every one doesn't have faith in it. You know, Charles Darwin didn't know what to do with his life. His perception suggested him to become a priest, but he still didn't listen to his conscience. His logic told him to study divinity at Cambridge in order to become a priest. But still conscience wasn't in picture. Finally when he listened to me, he went to Galapagos islands and traveled to various places to observe living beings. He has become immortal by introducing 'On the origin of species.'" The 3rd monk explained.
Did you get what the 3rd monk wanted to suggest? Always follow your conscience. Logic and perception may mislead, but conscience would never. All the great people follow their conscience. They don't believe in temporary solutions. We often question our own conscience, when conscience tells us to follow it. When great people say 'heart', it is actually conscience. Conscience knows who you exactly are, and what you can become in your life. And yes, conscience stays with us till death!

The philisophy of Hinduism

0Rethoughts
Sometimes, I think how ignorant this entire world is about Hinduism. Hinduism which is one of the oldest religion, is also one of the most tolerant religion. We believe in 'Sarva dharma sambhav" which means equal respect to all religions. We believe in 'Vasudhaiv kutumbakam" which means whole world is a family. We also believe in 'Truth is one, paths are many." So if you are a Christian & going to a church, that's your path of worshiping the truth. Jesus is the truth. His message to the world is the truth. If you are a Muslim & going to a Mosque, that's your path of worshiping the truth. Allah is the truth. Hinduism is not a religion, it is a way of life. There are no restrictions. We are actually not Hindus, initially our culture was called 'Sanatana dharma'. Sanatana means immortal. Dharma means ethics not religion. Any one, who thinks Hinduism is all about worshiping idols, must change his opinion. Let me share the core-philosophy of Hinduism from some of the holy scriptures of Hinduism.
"Life and death, joy and sorrow, gain and loss; These dualities cannot be avoided. Learn to accept what you cannot change."
-the Ramayana
The aforementioned quote is form 'Ramayana'. It teaches us to experience the dualities of life. No man only lives with happiness. Humans have to deal with joy & sorrow. If you cannot change something, learn to accept it.
“Yogah, Chitta Vrithi Nirodhah”- Yoga is the control of thought waves in the mind.
          -Patanjali
Now, we invented yoga. Yoga is the method to stay healthy & if you ask me to explain yoga in depth, I must say- Yoga is the method to conquer your senses. It has been illuminated in Hindu scriptures that before you conquer others, conquer your own senses. Once you conquer them, you will win over others by wining their hearts.
“If you want to see the brave, look at those who can forgive"                         - Bhagwad Geeta

It is apparent that only a brave person can forgive. The person who is weak, can only beg for the forgiveness. So forgiveness is an ornament of the courageous person.
If I am a hindu, I am a muslim, christian, jew, budhdhist at the same time. I do not need to convert myself. I am the follower of all the religions on this planet. As I mentioned, Hinduism is not a religion. It is the way of life. The way you live your life. Whether you believe in god or not. Whether you believe in idols  or not. Whether you are a Hindu or not, It never matters. It is a relentless search of truth. The ultimate truth as I often wonder is- What is the purpose behind creation of this Universe? There must be a purpose.... Let's find it out!

People who influenced my thinking(series)- Osho

0Rethoughts

Osho has greatly altered my thinking. My father believes in the philosophy of Osho. My dad used to listen songs, dance on it, he became more open-minded, we started discussing issues like I discuss with my friends. So naturally, I desired to know what is that in this man(Osho) which makes my father so charming? I generally avoid to listen to or read anything about people who look like sadhus, babas.. so I avoided books based on his speeches. One day, I had nothing for time pass, so thought let's read it. Osho had not written a single book, all the books are based on this great man's speeches. He used to dress like Dumbledore(Harry Potter). He was a free thinker. He said think beyond religions. Religions are there to bound your thinking. Every question will eventually come to an answer- 'God'. Think scientifically. I recommend you to read his books or just listen to him. He opposed 'Ladies first'. Why? Because if you are standing in a queue & waiting for your turn. You suddenly see a woman behind you & you say,"Ladies first' & leave your position.... this conveys wrong message to society. This conveys that women are not strong enough to occupy their own position. So stop saying 'Ladies first'. it's actually contrary to the women empowerment.. He is no more among us.. sad. He was given poison by American government. He built a small town 'Rajanishpuram' in America. Rajanish is the real name of Osho. Rajanishpuram(google it) was the first of its kind. Let me share some quotes-

“Experience life in all possible ways --
good-bad, bitter-sweet, dark-light,
summer-winter. Experience all the dualities.
Don't be afraid of experience, because
the more experience you have, the more
mature you become.”
― Osho

“Listen to your being. It is continuously giving you hints; it is a still, small voice. It does not shout at you, that is true. And if you are a little silent you will start feeling your way. Be the person you are. Never try to be another, and you will become mature. Maturity is accepting the responsibility of being oneself, whatsoever the cost. Risking all to be oneself, that's what maturity is all about.”
― Osho

“If you love a flower, don’t pick it up.
Because if you pick it up it dies and it ceases to be what you love.
So if you love a flower, let it be.
Love is not about possession.
Love is about appreciation.”
― Osho

“Creativity is the greatest rebellion in existence.”
― Osho

"The real question is not whether life exists after death. The real question is whether you are alive before death."

-Osho

Indians! Reread the history.... part-1

2Rethoughts
Sometimes I feel I should have ripped off the history books that I was told to learn by heart in earlier grades in school. The past glory of India was not taught to us. We lack information about how great we were. But why it is important to know past glory? The logic is if we were that great then greatness is in our DNA. We can be great again! After getting into a college, I thought now it is the time to wake Indians up. Because now people would take my point of view more seriously! I have been looking for some historical documents for last two months to prove that we were not poor, dirty & ignorant before English took over India. So here is a small article on how great you were! Darshil reporting,

We developed world's first script- Brahmi script! We taught entire world how to write! Isn't that important to teach to our students? You have been taught that India was full of fools who believed in idols & prayed in front of it, but India was far more greater than you think. The best ever algorithm in computer science has been accomplished in Sanskrit language! Did you know that? No other culture has delivered mythology such as 'Ramayana' & 'Mahabharata', comprehending lakhs of shloks. I don't conceive Ram & Krishna as super natural being, but consider the imagination of writers! Aryabhatta first introduced zero, you know that.

Women! Women were incredibly respected in Indian society. In ancient times, Women were appointed as Acharya(Headmistress) of Vidhyapiths. How liberal our society was! This discrimination against women, had come in India through 'Macaulay education system'(I will expose it in next post.). We have been taught how reluctant our forefathers were to women independence. But actually America, England, Finland & many western countries had not allowed women to vote prior to 1950s. Western philosophy says women do not have soul, they are things as a table, a chair, a pencil! You can use them & throw! This is western philosophy. Over the time, we have studied that Indians were backward & we believed in 'Sati' tradition.

We found Algebra, then we taught it to Arabs & Arabs conveyed it to Europe. We had geniuses like Aryabhatta, Sushrut, Charak, Bhaskaracharya, Panini, Vatsyayan, Chankya, Bagbhatt, Valmiki, Vedvyas, Swami Vivekananda & most important thing is they didn't have degrees! This entire system of evaluating other people is a bullshit! Every single person is incomplete & when you are incomplete, you have no right to evaluate other people. This is what our ancient philosophy says. Several parts would be there in this series to educate Indians the real history that they(90% people) do not know.......

Love- I am utterly confused

0Rethoughts

Dear love,

I am utterly confused about your behaviour. What is your tendency? Even geniuses fail when it comes to love! Today I am writing this letter just to inform you that time has come to clarify your stand. There are some unwritten rules & people have been following it conventionally. One of them is only boys propose the girls! Who formulated that rule? Whoever formed that must have avoided a part of people who are shy! Who can love but can't express their feelings. There should be reservation for such people. Same as we see in education system. There should be an unwritten rule that girls should propose such boys.
Love, don't you think frauds are common now a days. People use your name, make relationship & when it comes to responsibility ,they decamp. To me, love means care- you take care of your partner, responsibility- you consider some responsibilities like meeting, calling frequently, etc. , equality- no one in love is superior or inferior... both are equal!, promise- you might think it's a part of responsibility, but it's a different thing. In love, promise is not an agreement or a warranty, but it's a group of words that you would like to keep without any unwillingness, understanding- without it world can't exist! Understanding doesn't mean after break up you choose another girl & I will choose another boy, but it does mean you understand something before loved one say it, respect- you must give respect to your partner, it never means you should add "Ma'am"  before her name or "sir" before his name, it says you respect the choice of your partner, keeping in mind that one of them is you!
Recently my friend faced break up. I don't know whether it can be called a break up or not! Because he never knew that the girl with whom he used to chat & dream of making relations, liked him or not. That girl is in China(She is indian) & my friend is in India. We used to tease them in school days... it affected their minds, my friend started thinking of her as his lover & he took it seriously. He got happy when he recieved positive response from that girl! They would talk about their relations, the obstacles & happy life! He was very happy. He happily showed me his message history one day on whatsapp.. he cracked jokes & she laughed... it happens in all the relationships... one day he said- How do you feel when a girl, after almost 3 months of good chatting life, dump you? I got shocked! I got to know that chatting with my friend didn't mean more than a 'Time Pass' to her! At the same time she was committed with other guy.... love, can you tell me why it happens? This is just a small & less sensitive case, there are cases which end up in suicide or murder. Fruad cases are against both of the genders.... male & female!
My mom said love involves risk, as a boy you have to take risk one day. I said-"Mom, I can't. I am afraid that she might not talk with me any more." The reply of my mom is worth noting- "Son, either you take risk, propse a girl & become happy or you regret throughout your life!" Those words are still in my mind! It's easy for many people, but tough for me & the people like me.
I think you will get my point & I am eagerly looking forward to your reply.

Truly your believer,
Darshil Shah.

Youth has taken charge!Where are you?

0Rethoughts

Recently I was reading Times Of India. I read a news- " India among world's most violent places: study." . I was startled. It was not what I wanted to read. But truth remains truth, whether you want to know it or not. I thought what I can do to change the situation? I can't expect anything from politicians. They even don't make statements on such issues, because it is not under their party agenda. Their agenda is just - how to humiliate other parties & get to the power! They just want to get power by hook or by crook. But as a citizen of India, I can't just sit & watch whatever is going on! Have to do something. How can I make world realize that India is not just a country where dirty people live, it is not a country where only corrupt people breaths, It is not a country where rapists live! I have to do something.
I thought what about involving youth? Youth have enormous power to change the ugly face of Indian politics! As India is one of the youngest country & soon going to be youngest country in the world. I should involve youth in politics. At least I should encourage them to participate in debates & discussion. I should motivate them to discuss the complications, crisis & dilemmas, concerning our nation. I was looking for a medium. I thought youth can be easily approached through facebook & that's why I have chosen facebook as my weapon. Don't underestimate the potential of facebook to bring change in any country. I've witnessed the Jasmin spring in Arabian countries. Why we can't begin Indian spring? "We" means Indian youth. enough is enough. A while back, an anonymous organization declared India as unsafe country for women travelers. Time demands change. I appeal to Indian youth to join a facebook page... Even I appeal to the foreigners, who want to visit India, but because of such news , they are afraid.... you can also help us bring change! I am not telling you to just like it, it is not at all our duty, Our duty is to think & derive solution. soon I am going to create a page for g+ users too... this facebook page is a new born baby,  has not reached to a vast audience. Youth has taken initiative! where are you? Join today.......
The Young Government of India Thank you.

Read this before you die!

0Rethoughts

Yes, I want all the people out there to read this before they die! No matter if you are doctor, engineer, philosopher, manager, marketer, CA or whoever you are. I think you all should read this. I have not authorized what you are going to read in a few moments. It is a small portion of best selling book "THE LEADER WHO HAD NO TITLE" by Robin Sharma. If you have already read the book, however, I would suggest you to stay on this page until the end of this post. You will find something inspiring indeed.

In keeping with the book, I referred above, "10 HUMAN REGRETS" are as follow-
1)You reach your last day with the brilliant song that your life was meant to sing still silent within you.

2)You reach your last day without ever having experienced the natural power that inhabits you to do great work and achieve great things.

3)You reach your last day realizing that you never inspired anyone else by the example you set.

4)You reach your last day full of pain at the realization that you never took any bold risks so you never received any bold rewards.

5)You reach your last day understanding that you missed the opportunity to catch a glimpse of mastery because you bought into the lie that you had to be resigned to mediocrity.

6)You reach your last day and feel heartbroken that you never learned the skill of transforming adversity into victory and lead into gold.

7)You reach your last day regretting that you forgot that work is about being radically helpful to others rather than being helpful only to yourself.

8)You reach your last day with the awareness that you ended up living the life that society trained you to want versus leading the life that you truly wanted to have.

9)You reach your last day and awaken to the fact that you never realized your absolute best nor touched the special genius that you were built to become.

10)You reach your last day and discover you could have been a leader and left this world so much better than you found it. But you refused to accept that mission because you were just too scared. And so you failed. And wasted a life.
These are not mere sentences. Feel the words written in each point & you will feel how disappointing it is to reach mortality without doing something exciting! Without taking bold risks, no matter how much money you earn you will regret when last moment would come!

Now according to same book, "10 HUMAN VICTORIES" are as follow-

1)You reach your end full of happiness and fulfillment on realizing that you are all used up—having spent the fullness of your talents, the biggest of your resources, and the best of your potential doing great work and leading a rare-air life.

2)You reach your end knowing that you played at a standard of concentrated excellence and held yourself to the most impeccable standards in each thing that you did.

3)You reach your end in noisy celebration for having the boldness of spirit to have regularly confronted your largest fears and realized your highest visions.

4)You reach your end and recognize that you became a person who built people up versus one who tore people down.

5)You reach your end with the understanding that while your journey may have not always been a smooth one, whenever you got knocked down you instantly got back up– and at all times, never suffered from any loss of optimism.

6)You reach your end and bask in the staggering glory of your phenomenal achievements along the rich value you have contributed to the lives of the people you were lucky to serve.

7)You reach your end and adore the strong, ethical, inspirational and empathetic person you grew into.

8)You reach your end and you realize that you were a genuine innovator who blazed new trails instead of following old roads.

9)You reach your end surrounded with teammates who call you a rock-star, friends who say you’re a hero, and loved ones that call you a legend.

10)You reach your end as a true Leader Without a Title, knowing that the great deeds you did will endure long after your death
Again feel the words. You will experience inspiration as you go through these points. Your journey might not be always smooth but still you will have satisfaction that you lived the life that set an example or what you might have loved to live like!
You know what great people do? They simply avoid the conventions. They like to choose new paths which are untraveled! They don't like challenges. But you know, they love their destiny more than the obstacles or challenges on their way to achieve success! That's why some of them say I love challenges, because whatever comes in their way to their beloved destiny, they love all that things! Start doing something out of box, something creative, something unconventional from the moment this post ends! Thank you.

What India really needs?

1 Rethoughts

One of the decisive factor to write this blog, is my love for my country. I want my country to become a super-power. It's not just me, there are millions of  Youngsters want the same. The country which had economy of 90 billion dollars around the time of 1800s, is now one of the poorest country in the world & nothing can be more piteous than that.I don't know why our electric media & press are so dumb! How can they call our corrupt & guileful politicians "leaders"? I would never call them even politicians, considering the way some of them are alleged for their deviltry. All the politicians are not abominable. Some of them are hailed as "Great & Honest", too.
Where golden birds used to live, where soil produces diamonds & pearls in abundance, today the same land & soil are victim of corruption. Thousands of billions of Rupees are involved in such scams of coal & land distribution.
India is the country where people are united, though diverse in different religions. We & world call it "Unity in diversity". I consider it as one of the biggest prevarication. Nothing can be more untrue than this particular "fact". We have been in delusion, however, at the time of Indo-Pak partition , it is said that 10,00,000 ( Yes, it's 1 Million!) people were killed in riots. I am not in favor of those orthodox or zealots who want our nation to become a "Hindu nation". But at least, we should contemplate this problem, then & only we will be able to solve it. Why different religions are abhorrent to each other? Why they quarrel with each other? Just for religions & gods? How such people can be entitled as, who think that different religions have different gods? Are they mentally sick or numbskulls?
Actually, we have been using wrong phrases in a democracy. We say "Congress party is ruling over India." This is absolutely wrong. How can a government rule in democracy? We should change our approach. "Congress government is serving our nation" is perfect. Instead of "Ruling party", we should say "Serving Party". & this change should be made as soon as possible. Change should happen from foundation, Because when foundation is week, no matter how strong building is, it can not stand tall for a long time.
Media should take certain responsibilities. Media has immense power to show mirror to any government. The greater the power you possess, the more possibility of misuse. Many leading news channel anchors & reporters are involved in corruption. They shape news conforming with the political needs & requirements of politicians. Which ultimately misleads the people. I have seen many news anchors & even editors, admitting that they were pressurized at times.

Our military, our plus point. Despite governments unwillingness to boost our muscle power, Our Army is doing quit well. I was so incensed when I heard that two of our soldiers had been beheaded by pakistani army, & We just conducted debates on news channel for a few days & then as usual we all forgot that matter again! Are we extremely busy with our businesses that even our nation comes second in our priority list? The nation ,which produced Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, Shahid(Martyr) Bhagat Singh , does not matter to any one?

Finely our education system. Huhhhh.... The great country where Aarya Bhatt, Shridhar, Panini, Chanakya, Brahmgupt, Kanad, Varahmihir, Bhaskar, Charak, Sushrut, Brahmdev, Shripati, Achyut pishatarui, Nilkhanth Somyaji & many more innumerable scholars were born, has today bafflingly no one who can be addressed as their scion. Just owing to our Education system! Do you know the origin of our education system?? Mr. Thomas Babington Macauly, The member of advisor committee of British-hind Governor General, Brought in new education system for Indians, because British did not need people with independent thoughts & believes. They just needed "Trained" people, who can work according to the orders! People with independent & intellectual ideology may lead to the protests against British rulers. That's why they came out with an educational system, which just produces "trained" people, who can not be compared at all with the greatest Indian scholars, I mentioned above. Still today we are following almost the same system that British people brought in before they left India. There are very minor change, so for god's sake, Don't argue that this particular Indian has achieved this & that. There are great Indians, but still you can't compare them with greatest ancient Indian scholars. I would like to suggest Discovery, History, National Geographic or any other channel, Research on these great Indian scholars & launch a series of episodes that describes their true intelligence, imagination, accomplishments & perspicacity. There are so many points, but putting end to this article as always. Share this article to make government helpless & consequently have to make concrete changes(Am I Expecting too much from busy Indians?). Thank you.

Motivation is Addiction

0Rethoughts
Today no one reads philosophy. There is a lot of blogs which share articles like-'10 ways....' & '5 ways....', easiest way to become popular. Anyway, Today my topic is-'Motivation'. My friends always tell me, whenever you write on any topic, your words feel like wounds. You always oppose the conventional ways of doing something, I tell them- 'why you choose conventional ways?, There is always a beginner. There is always a genius... who finds a new method to do something & people follow that method- which is called 'convention'. If you don't follow conventional methods, then you have an opportunity to find your own methods to think & do something. I never want to lose that opportunity, that's why I never follow conventional methods.'
Coming to motivation. One of the biggest & most profitable business today is to motivate someone. I don't know why people need motivation? Motivation is mere illusion. It may make you feel confident for a fraction of time, but when you face real problems, I bet most people fail because of motivation. First of all- What is motivation?- It is an act of making someone feel very confident, hopeful, enthusiastic through some stories(Unrealistic),some quotes( some quotes are never said by the person, whose name you see below the quotes), some songs( freaking funny).
Motivation is addiction. Yes, I've seen many people who need motivation before they start a new task or work or assignment. They feel uncomfortable without motivation. It's reality that Bill Gates left University & became richest man on earth, but when you use this fact as an excuse to hide your failures then, my friends you are on a wrong way. Why people need drugs? Because it makes them feel really powerful & confident. The same way motivation works. Both affects your mind for a short time. Both creates illusion. Both are addictive. Both are the bases of huge profitable industries.
There is a well-known MOTIVATION GURU(really??) Shiv Khera. You must have heard his name. He defeated in an election, which he fought in Delhi,India. Where was his all motivation gone at that time?? Yes at the same time he was also well-known motivation guru. Most people who interestingly attend his lectures don't know about this. You will say, He is a human & that's why he have to face defeats sometimes. But dear readers, You are also humans & that's why you also have to see victories sometimes. If you fail once don't waste your money to motivate yourself.
Now read it carefully how you can motivate yourself without any motivation guru.
First of all whenever you face a failure, put your mind aside for a moment. Mind has a bad habit of taking matters more seriously than they deserve. It seems unrealistic but their is a way to do this. Close your eyes, & concentrate on the person whom you like the most. Then recall some moments you passed with that person. Then if the person exist, call him & talk to him. Tell him about your failure. There is always a person in every bodies life, who stays calm in any situation. I know this because, I am the one. Though a person doesn't know me , whenever he feels bad, just comes to me, I talk to him like nothing happened wrong with him &  after sometime he forgets his problem & gets ready for new challenges. I don't take money for that. Meditation is the best way to motivate yourself.
In the end, The stories which motivation gurus tell you, not a single of those stories have motivation guru in it. like, Thomas Edison fired from school & then studied under his mother, & become great scientist. where is a motivation guru in it??? Be happy , Be motivated. Thank you.

What's true objective of education?

I grew up in a family where, reading books, is considered one of the habits that every familty-member should possess. Not forcefully, but you know, It comes with genes. My parents love to read books, that's why I've read many books in my life so far. I am 18 years young boy, with so many dreams in my eyes.
I always ponder over this topic- What is the objective of education? Some readers raised questions on my two posts-' IIT- Indian Institute of (Mental) Terrorism' & 'A letter to youth'. So I think it's necessary to make some points clear.
When I oppose the 'memory technique',Some people say that you are under evaluating the efforts of those who have achieved something great in current system, just because you can't achieve it. I want to tell them- " Dear readers, efforts are important, there is no other way to success, But direction in which efforts are being done, is more important.
You are driving a boat in the opposite of that direction in which river is flowing, then you are working hard, too. But it's silly & mindless efforts. I am not protesting the efforts of those achievers, I am just saying the direction is wrong.
Not just IIT,there are many globally well-reputed universities & institutes, which are well-reputed, only owing to the fact that it's hard to pass their entrance exams. These so-called entrance exams never measure the true potential of students, instead, they measure how much you can mug the book up & paste it.
I want change. I am not whining. It's not hypocrisy to oppose current system. Actually, it could be whining, if I only show you the problems & faults, but I am with solution.
In my views, Educational system should be like this-
There should not be fixed books to learn from. Students are supposed to update their knowledge according to latest researches & inventions. It will prevent cramming & mugging.
Now coming to the assignments. Come on University passouts,Answer me- How many assignments you've written on your own? Very few will answer - all the assignments. & these few people are, those so-called blind achievers. Because assignments are not based on practical education. Instead of giving such assignments, Professors should give different assignment to each & every student of the class & assignments should be like this- Recently 'XYZ' company launched this 'electric product',try to find out- How it's made & how it works?, Find out how ceiling fan works? (I bet, though you are sitting below it since years, most of you( engineers) don't know how it works..!!) On the day of assignment submission, A discussion should be held, so that everyone can know each others assignments.
Exams should be taken this way-
You have to submit your all the assignments & 70 % questions will be asked from assignments(includes your classmate's assignments too),while 30% questions will be theoretical. Here theory means the concepts covered in assignments. This is the only way to make our future generation think .
I tell you there are thousands of people who possess more I.Q. & memory power than Albert Einstein, but Einstein was only one,is only one & will be only one. Because thinking creates difference.
Let me tell you a story-
There was a forest & 'Babbar',A lion, was king of that forest. One day he informed all the animals that he is going to take an examination to find smartest & genius animal in the jungle. All the animals gathered on the predeclared spot. Animals include An elephant,a monkey,a sparrow,a giraffe,a fish,a penguin & a fox. Lion was seated in front of all the animals. Everyone was so excited. Then lion said- "For a fair selection everybody has to take the same exam- Please climb that tree..!! " Got my point??
This is our educational system. Everyone has their own field of interest. Someone is good at physics, Someone may be good at Mathematics only. Even people who sets the question papers, have some limits. At last they are humans. Even paper setters might have never scored good marks. Everybody feels the same that this education system is worst, but once they pass out from it, they never care to change it. So many arguments are still unwritten, Because I don't want to make this article long & boring. Thank you.

Steve "The philosopher" jobs

0Rethoughts
I would have titled this article " How to become Steve jobs??" or " 5 ways to become Steve Jobs". This type of titles are generally used by Bloggers or Writers to get traffic on their blog.Anyway, I just believe in  sharing my thoughts rather then making it a product. Recently I got the biography of Steve jobs, written by Walter Isaacson. I haven't read it completely yet. But I have read first chapter.  I am a big fan of his "quotes". Whenever I hear the name - "Steve jobs" , A face with brightness, round glasses, white beard, eyes with the vision, comes in my mind. I know most of you feel the same. In this article I am not going to highlight his technical career but I am going to throw light on his offbeat life as a philosopher.
If someone ask me to set up a list of top 10 quotes of all time, I would choose this quote undoubtedly- " Knowing that I will be dead soon is one of the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make big choices of  my life." What do you think?? Isn't it inspiring?? It inspires me a lot. I think, He had limited time but look at his attitude towards his life..!!! He indirectly encouraged all the people suffering from "deadly disease", that knowing you have limited time to fulfill your dreams is the biggest motivation to spend rest of the life for your dreams.
Second quote coming in my mind is- "Innovation distinguishes between a leader & a follower." A reality..!! A leader is leader because he is leader...!!! I mean he has his own thoughts as well as inspiring life. He believe in himself. On other hand followers are the followers because they think innovation is beyond their ability. Leader just catch opportunity & writes history.
On being the richest man in an
interview to The Wall Street Journal
in 1993 "Being the richest man in
the cemetery doesn't matter to
me... Going to bed at night saying
we've done something wonderful...
that's what matters to me." Nice one by him..!! I am putting the end to this article after few lines.
It means money couldn't satisfy him, But work that he has done ,is important then everything else. I recommend you to watch his speech that he had given on convocation( I think) at Stanford university on you tube. Read his quotes when you face break down. & at last, Be straight forward as Steve, in life....!!! Thank you. Looking for comments & suggestions below..!!!

Love @facebook

2Rethoughts

Facebook is one of the biggest social networking sites available on Internet. Most of us are member of facebook. Here is one love story which I would like to tell you........

At sixteen years old, Sysay Tedros was happily living in Ethiopia with her large family and boyfriend Getu, whom she planned to marry. But war broke out, causing Sysay, her mother, and sister to flee to England without warning. Even after they were settled in the U.K., Sysay could get no concrete answer about Getu’s whereabouts. But she never forgot him. Ten years after leaving Ethopia, she started reconnecting with friends who also fled. Through these contacts, she found out that Getu was still alive and got his phone number. She called him almost immediately and was overjoyed to find he never stopped thinking about her either. Soon after, he moved to England and they got hitched.
[source- www.divinecaroline.com]

Facebook helped a lot Syay Tedros to maintain her relationship with her boyfriend. As we all know , now a days facebook is working as medium which improves relationship between or among the  people. Here I am going to talk about how facebook is fulfilling desires of lovers. Are you in love with someone from your friends?? I know there are many people out there who have positively answered my question.
If you have negatively answered my question, then answer few more questions......
1)Whenever you sign into your account, Do you try to find out whether particular person is online or not?
2)Do you download profile pic of a particular person & watch it frequently?
3)Ask yourself- When you update your status, What do you expect?? A like from particular person or bulk likes?
4)What is more important for you more likes or a single like from a particular person??
5)Do you always try to be alert so that you can't lose a single opportunity to chat with particular person?
6)Is there any person on facebook whose profile you check on & off?
7)Do you like someone's post without reading sometimes,Because you think, that person is perfect ??
There are many questions I haven't written, but if you've answered all the questions or most of them positively..... then sorry to say you have lost your heart...!!!! You are in love. I am looking for comments guys.... come on..!! share your experience...... or leave comment as a feedback.

A letter to youth

1 Rethoughts
My experience after one sem. in
university.
- I used to think that college is
synonym of heaven. You can do
everything . but I was wrong.
- Here You will find some fellows
whom we can consider as expected
 outcome of our higher secondary
educational system - So selfish.
- After one month in college-
"Someone can avoid
studies...!!!"(unbelievable)
after one sem. - " even somebody
can take studies
seriously....!!!" (shocking)
- I used to think that people wander
with their girlfriends in campus &
have fun. But after getting into
college I came to know that even
this requires great courage to start
conversation with girls. It seems
very easy but little difficult for shy
guys like me.
- last benchers are very creative....
They can fill whole desk with name of
 lovers, censored drawings, quotes
( like - never ask salary of man,age
of woman & marks of
engineer....!!!!), etc.
- In school days, having girlfriend
or crush is like "Top secret" matter.
Now it's common. But in collage,
"Top secret" is grades/marks.
- You can learn more from people
around you than attending lectures.
This is my recent facebook status update. I have written about my experience of 1 sem. at university. I am in Electrical branch. We all know one truth very well that in school days we all dream of college life. College life attracts us very much. But when we get in college we understand that nothing is special here.
After 12th or 10+2 standard( whatever you call it, we all know it's crap.) everyone gets excited to join college. You can see some lovers here roaming in campus. If you observe them, I bet you will find that they change partners or lovers like cloths. Everyone is now used to this, so no one feels the pain of break up or something.
College is not all about study & love. There is something more, You can learn there by using your observation. You know!?? After 3 idiots movie a new complex "Rencho Complex" can be seen in colleges. Some people try to show that they never read ,though they top the class. It irritates me, because they read a lot but they always lie that they read very less. You may know some people around you suffering from "Rencho Complex".
Most important thing is to take part in different events & workshops..... Books can make you sincere & bright but experience can make you smart & genius. Never mess up with professors. If you know , you are right then you can screw up professors  too. But try to avoid it because, your grades indirectly depends on your relation with professors. Now it depends on you, which type of students you want to become??!! In my view , there are 3 types of student :-
1) First benchers
2) middle benchers
3) last benchers
First benchers are generally very sincere & they keep asking questions to professors during lectures. Last benchers are my favourite , because They don't have particular charasteristics. They may be sincere, funny, genius, quiet, careless. I proud to be a last bencher. Middle benchers are generally quiet & confused ones. I guess they are little confused whether they should sincerely learn or have fun. In India, It is very difficult to find a teacher or professor who spare some time to research work. Indian teachers are very concerned on earning money. So ultimately they are dependent on books, mostly not written by them.
Our mind also follows Newton's first law. When we leave one stage of life & enter in a new one, our mind resist the change occurred around us. So we think that
the previous stage(time period) was amazing , If god tell me to ask a wish , I will definitely choose that stage. Then we pass another stage of life & another new stage begins. Same process again. It will never stop.
It doesn't matter whether you have got full marks or zero, Life doesn't believe in partiality.

IIT- Indian Institute of (Mental) Terrorism

0Rethoughts
Try to understand the title. I have added Mental, but it is silent & changed Technology to Terrorism. Why I have added Mental?
Want to get admission in IITs? I know most of you are very eager to know how to join IIT..... & some of you are probably failed to get into IIT. To me, People who are failed to get into IITs, are the luckiest people in the world. I have never tried to get into IIT. I have never attempted IIT-JEE. There are three reasons.
1) I can't make wall between me & world.
2) I can not memorize rubbish material for it.
3) I don't want to ruin my thinking power.
Before you try to get admission into IIT, I want to tell you something. Let me introduce my two friends- Mr.Gajananda & Mr.Gadhananda.. Mr.Gajananda is an elephant & Mr.Gadhananda is a donkey. Mr.Gajananda has very sharp memory. You might know that elephant has very sharp memory. Elephant will never forget your face after gazing at your face only once. Mr.Gadhananda has very good hard working abilities. You know that donkeys are used to carry very heavy loads under human guidance.
So,got it? No? I know. What I want to say is- Even animals have sharp memory & hard working ability. You need just 2 weapons to get into IITs.
1)Sharp Memory
2)Hard working ability.
What is the difference between you & animals. Humans are endowed with Thinking ability. You don't need it for IIT. You have to learn by heart hundreds of concepts & patterns of questions & even more. Still there is no guaranty for your admission.
Chetan Bhagat has mentioned in his book "5 Point Someone" that you must close yourself in a room for AT LEAST two years, & then you might get into IITs. Friends now tell me what you need as a proof better than this. Some former IITians are at one on this issue. You must know there are some institutes which guaranty you for your admission in IITs. But before you jump with the joy must read this......
http://vj-menon.blogspot.in/2011/10/on-iits-coaching-centers-and-mrmurthys.html
At last, Why I have added mental? You can understand now..... If you have good thoughts then you will definitely earn money. It is proved fact that none of the great scientists of India is graduated from IIT. Thank you.

Internet & Education

1 Rethoughts
This is very wide topic & we can discuss very much on this topic. Internet is treasure of knowledge. We have to learn a subject,named- " communication skills" , in first year @ University. We are supposed to talk about advantages & disadvantages of Internet at University level. When we speak on this topic, they check 2 things-
1)Our knowledge about Internet.
2)whether we have sense of good & bad or not.
But I think Internet should be added as a subject @ Secondary level in school. They should be introduced with advantages & taught to avoid disadvantages.
If you are a frequent user of Internet, then you must know about "Khan Academy". You can learn whatever you learn @ school through best medium of learning -'videos'.
There are many sites available on Internet,Using them you can enrich your knowledge on various topics. One of them is "www.Howstuffworks.com". This site is constructed for curious people.
First you will read this sentence on site probably-' Learn How everything works '. You will find very interesting stuff on this site, related with things around you. You will also find some ' top 10' & ' top 5' like stuff on this site if you are curious.
If you love to read about history then I can suggest you a site- "www.History.com". Yes, you all know about History channel, same owner. There is one amazing feature on this site- 'This day in History' It enables you to see some benchmarks in history occurred on your birthday.
I haven't copied & pasted this information here. But I like to access such sites. I have visited all these sites & I have just written my experience.
If you are fond of reading books then I am going to introduce heaven for you. "www.bookchums.com" & "www.free-ebooks.net" are wonderful sites. You can access over 50,000 Free ebooks in 'Free ebooks' section of "www.bookchums.com". You can download any ebook. You will also find thousands of ebooks on "www.Free-ebooks.net", but if you create free account then you can download 5 books per month. You just need to log in through your existing facbook or google account to download free ebooks from bookchums, no limts as "www.Free-ebooks.net".
If you have smartphone then you can download some very useful apps from "Education" section of Google play,App store & Market place. You only need desire & strength to capture information.
Not just only students but, teachers should also visit such sites & apps. I want to suggest that, If possible students should be allowed to open such sites once in a week in schools.

Woman's Rights

0Rethoughts
In 10th standard, we were asked to write an essay- "Nari tu Narayani" this is Gujarati sentence & shows importance of women. It was very sad that many of us memorized this essay. It was very important essay at that time( now I am in first year of engineering.).Something like MOST IMPORTANT(imp).
But the aim behind asking this essay, can not be achieved like this.I think their objective behind asking this essay is to increase awareness of students on "position of women" in society,Because students are the future citizens. But we have already seen, what could occur if we memorize everything like "Chatur"(3 Idiots).
Recently some incidents have raised questions against women's position in society. Some people believe that importance of women is increasing day by day in society while some people still believe that society has not accepted women completely, yet.
Once I read a book- " Nari & Kranti"( means= " woman & revolution"). It is still in my library. This book is based on Osho's speech & written in Gujarati by Mr. Raman Desai. There are some very good points mentioned in this book. Osho opposed "Ladies first" formula. Today this formula is used on and off, but it conveys wrong message to society. When a man leaves his position by speaking "Ladies first" & allow a woman to take his position, it indirectly tells society that women are not strong enough to occupy their own position. This shows that men are having Ruth on women consequently, women are there where they can not be, without men's support.
It makes man feel like superior, which is not good for our society. I think women should oppose this formula. women should become so firm that it doesn't matter how long queue is, I will stand & I will wait till my turn. women have to fight to show society that they are strong enough to occupy anything.
Women are very close to their hearts. Women are more emotional then men. It is scientifically approved that men think more logical then women. A Man uses more logic then a woman. But at last, we all live through our heart.
It is the best time to increase significance of women in Indian society. There are only 11% families in India, in which women are living with zero violence of their rights. It is sad that 11% is not enough for that country which is known as "future super power". A woman is someone's mother, she is also someone's daughter, she is someone's friend & she is someone's sister too. Though Women have been playing such roles in our society, they are still fighting for their rights. It sounds like a paradox that women are rapped & insulted in that country where they are considered goddesses &  worshiped.
I think society is impossible without woman, because son is impossible without mother.
                          - Darshil Shah , student of engineering.
